Darkness, emptiness, space, silence.

A silence so empty that it vibrates with absence.

An absence so empty that it feels like a presence.

A space so void that it feels infinite.

A darkness so dark that vision melts
as sugar does in a black coffee cup.

No seeing, no hearing, no sensing, just
presence all alone.

This is as close as words can take us
to what can’t be said.

Some words can be intoned as an incantation
to conjure what is, and yet, it is not.
