Pacifying Mind

My teacher asked me, “What had you been doing?”

“Meditating.”

“What for?”

“To pacify my mind.”

“How can something that doesn’t exist be pacified?

“If I don’t have one, how come I’m confused?

“Who is this that is confused? He looked around the room as if searching.

I knew by now how to play the game so I said, “No one.”

“Get out!” He yelled.

As I was leaving he asked, “How can ‘no one’ leave?

I returned.

“Get out!” He yelled

Before I could turn around, he rushed to the door and was gone.
